About

When Sarah moved to Hawaii in 2001, she had no idea that she was about to stumble upon her life’s calling, yoga. With a history of dance and philosophy education, Sarah embraced the ancient teachings of yoga with an open mind and an open heart. She studied under Gita Roman, a senior Iyengar instructor, in an intensive approach to alignment. Saraha’s path gracefully met Astanga yoga in 2002, where her knowledge of the eight limbs of yoga began to grow. Sarah believes that to know it, is to experience it.
Sarah went on to Byron Bay, Australia and immersed herself in Astanga, Vinyasa and Hatha yoga. Her teaching has evolved to form the striking balance of asana practice and spiritual practice. She is an ERYT (experienced over 1,000 hours registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance.) Her personal practice and her classes reflect her creativity and spontaneity, as she is inspired by living in the moment, honoring devotion arising within the body. Her most recent study has been under the guidance of Seane Corn and John Friend. Sarah is currently studying the Chakra system and the influence of the energetic body on the physical body. The Bhagavad Gita and teachings from Ram Dass are heavy guides to her teaching and practicing path. She believes we have a responsibility to serve others as the ultimate form of selflessness and alignment. Sarah’s classes are based upon tradition and intention, the yoga, yang or yin, is spiritually charged by channeling inner Grace.
Sarah has taught yoga and self-development courses at universities, yoga studios and retreat centers in Hawaii, Bali, and India. She offers private lessons and public group classes. Click back to home page for Schedule, Posture descriptions, Articles and a slide-show of her travels through India.
